After a long while, his parents and younger sister finally managed to control their excitement.

Chen Xian glanced at his three dearest family members, but ultimately fixed his gaze on his father’s face, aged far beyond his peers. He spoke, “Dad, promise me—from today onward, don’t go out to work as a porter anymore. You and Mom should stay home and enjoy your lives. Your son has already bought a house, and I’m working with others in business; things are developing well. I earn a lot every day, and soon, I’ll buy villas for you, Mom, and my sister to live in.”

Of course, Chen Xian’s claim about doing business with others was a kindly meant lie. He said it to pave the way for gifting his parents and sister a villa in the future. Although he now had the financial strength to purchase a mansion worth tens of millions or even hundreds of millions, he worried his parents might not adapt, so he decided to hold off and wait a while longer.

Upon hearing this, Chen Changhe wiped his reddened eyes, smiled, and the wrinkles on his face deepened further. “My Xian has made me proud! I promise you, I won’t go out to work anymore. From now on, I’ll stay home with your mother, drink tea, play with the cat, and enjoy life!”

An hour later, the whole family finally stepped out of the new home. His parents decided to consult a ‘Master’ to pick an auspicious day before moving in. Chen Xian himself wasn’t particular about such days, but his parents’ generation was extremely so.

During this hour, Chen Xian also deliberately used the power of his unique spiritual energy to treat his mother, whose long-standing diabetes had improved markedly under the almost ‘miraculous’ effects of his spiritual energy. He believed a few more treatments would cure her completely. He noticed that treating diabetes was different from treating polio; it required several sessions.

Downstairs, he hailed a taxi and sent his parents home. Then he turned to his sister. “Nizi, it’s eight o’clock. You’re still in time for class, and your school is just next door. Off you go!”

But Chen Nizi grabbed his hand, her big, bright eyes staring at him unwaveringly. “Is there something you want, Nizi?” he asked curiously.

Her eyes flickered, and she said, “Brother, can you lend me ten thousand yuan?”

“Of course!” Chen Xian smiled. “But you need to tell me—what do you need the money for?”

Without hesitation, she replied, “Brother, I plan to use ten thousand yuan as capital to invest in stocks. Since middle school, I’ve been studying the stock market in my spare time. So far, I’ve only been trading virtually, but now I want to try with real money.”

“Don’t worry, Brother, I won’t lose. I’ll repay the principal in a month, and I’ll pay you two percent interest.” Afraid he might refuse, she added this assurance.

To her surprise, Chen Xian, upon hearing the reason, said directly, “Nizi, send me your bank card number on WeChat. In a bit, I’ll transfer a million to you.”

Chen Nizi stood frozen, her big, bright eyes wide with disbelief.

Seeing her stunned, Chen Xian reached out and ruffled her hair, amused. “What are you daydreaming about?”

She finally came back to herself, threw her arms around him, buried her head in his chest, and said playfully, “Brother, I love you to bits!”

“Enough dawdling, get to school!” Chen Xian said, rubbing her head.

“Okay, goodbye Brother!” She let go, shouldered her backpack, and skipped off toward the school.

“Don’t forget to send your bank account on WeChat!” Chen Xian reminded her.

“I won’t forget!” she called back without turning her head.

Chen Xian smiled, picked up his charming cat, hailed a taxi, and returned to the Jinxiu Community. Now, with some free time, he intended to sit down and continue cultivating.

Just then, his phone rang. Chen Xian took it out and saw Zhang Xin’s number. The corners of his mouth curled into a smile as he answered, “Hello, Zhang Xin, is something the matter?”

Yet, as soon as he spoke, he regretted it.

“Chen Xian, can’t a girl call you just because she wants to?” Zhang Xin’s pleasant voice sounded in the receiver.

“That’s not what I meant!” Chen Xian felt a bit embarrassed.

“Alright, I do have something to discuss today. Do you remember my little niece, Zhang Xiaohan?” Zhang Xin, sensing his discomfort, got to the point.

“I remember. What’s happened to Xiaohan?” Chen Xian asked.

“Xiaohan’s cat hasn’t eaten or drunk lately, and is barely hanging on. We took it to the vet, but no one could find the cause. Xiaohan has been crying over it every day. I recall you mentioned at the flower and bird market that you can treat pets, so could you come and have a look to see if the cat can be cured?” Zhang Xin explained.

Chen Xian immediately agreed. Zhang Xin said she would drive over to pick him up.

Chen Xian gave instructions to his charming cat to guard the house and headed to the community gate. This time, with a pile of snacks laid out, the cat stayed home, enjoying her treats and training Xiao Yi, Xiao Er, and Xiao San.

Soon, a red Lamborghini sports car pulled up at the gate. Zhang Xin rolled down the window and waved to Chen Xian waiting outside.

Today, she had let her hair down over her shoulders, lightly made up, wearing a delicate white patterned blouse underneath a fitted woolen coat. The look was less girlish, more alluring.

Chen Xian was momentarily stunned—what a beautiful young woman!

He walked up, opened the passenger door and sat beside her, smiling at the striking girl. “Zhang Xin, you look gorgeous today.”

“Does that mean I’m only pretty today, and not on other days?” Zhang Xin, delighted by his compliment—the first time he’d praised her like this—blushed prettily, becoming even more charming as she teased him.

Chen Xian laughed, “Our campus queen Zhang is beautiful every day!”

“Now that’s more like it!” Zhang Xin’s lips curled, her bright eyes sparkled, and remembering something, she continued, “By the way, when are you moving into your new home?”

“I just took my parents to see it today. As for when we move, it depends on when they pick the date.”

“Well, be sure to let me know when you move!”

“Alright, I’ll tell you then.”

The two chatted as they drove toward Zhang Xiaohan’s home. Through the conversation, Chen Xian learned that Zhang Xiaohan wasn’t Zhang Xin’s actual niece, but her cousin’s daughter.

The sports car slowly entered the CL district, the royal villa area, stopping outside a small villa not far from Zhang Xin’s home.

After parking, the two entered the villa.

“Chen Xian, long time no see! Welcome to my home!” A beautiful woman in a beige professional suit greeted him with a smile. She was Zhang Xin’s cousin-in-law, Xu Ruyuan.

“Hello, Sister Xu!” Chen Xian replied. “Where’s Xiaohan?”

Hearing her daughter mentioned, a trace of worry appeared on Xu Ruyuan’s lovely face. “She’s in the back garden, keeping company with Princess Luna and Prince Haina.”

“Princess, Prince?” Chen Xian was curious.

Zhang Xin laughed and explained, “Princess Luna is the sick diamond-eyed cat, and Prince Haina is a puppy.”

Chen Xian understood. “Then take me to see the sick cat.”

“Not yet, hold on. I’ve invited Director Zhao, the most renowned feline and canine pet specialist in H Province, to examine Luna. Let’s wait until he’s finished.” Xu Ruyuan said.

She had gone to some lengths to secure Director Zhao’s visit.
