Chapter 111: Indirect Kissing

When Chu Bing came downstairs, the dining hall was already packed. Li Yuxi and Old Zhao had taken a table in the corner and ordered several dishes.
Chu Bing hurried over and stood beside the table, looking somewhat awkward.
Li Mohan glanced at her and said coolly, “Sit down.”
Old Zhao gave her a brief look, shook his head, and pointed to the seat beside Li Mohan. “Sit there.”
Chu Bing quickly sat down. She cautiously glanced at Li Mohan and saw the cold expression on his face. Knowing that he was still angry over what had happened earlier, she hastily picked up her chopsticks and served food into his bowl.
“Master, this is delicious. Please have some more!” she said, offering him a flattering smile.
Li Mohan stared silently at the food in his bowl. Suddenly, a trace of mockery flashed through his eyes.
If he had not personally seen Li Yuxi emerge from Chu Bing’s room that morning, he might truly have believed that she was devoted to him.
But the sight he had witnessed that morning had plunged him into an icy abyss.
Chu Bing had been flirting with him while carrying on with his second brother, Li Yuxi, at the same time! The two of them had even slept in the same room! What did she take him for?
Or perhaps she only wanted to use him to find his third brother, Li Haoran. Perhaps she had never liked him at all!
The thought caused the chill radiating from Li Mohan to grow even more intense.
Sitting beside him and feeling the immense pressure emanating from his body, Chu Bing braced herself and said, “Master, please don’t be angry. This morning, Li Yuxi—”
“Oh, big brother, these are all my favorite dishes. Thank you so much.”
Chu Bing was just about to explain what had happened with Li Yuxi when he approached from the side and draped one arm over her shoulder, making her swallow the rest of her words.
Chu Bing looked up at him with an ugly expression.
Li Yuxi gave her a flirtatious wink, then sat down beside her. He simply took the chopsticks from her hand and began using them.
“Wait, those are mine…” Chu Bing watched helplessly as Li Yuxi put the chopsticks into his mouth, her expression turning bitter.
He had used chopsticks she had already used. What was this supposed to be—an indirect kiss?
This was bad. Li Mohan was bound to misunderstand even more now!
Li Mohan tightened his grip around the chopsticks in his hand, an icy aura spilling from him in every direction.

Chu Bing lowered her head so hard that her features were scrunched together in misery.
Beside her, Li Yuxi curved his lips into a faint smile and continued eating with complete composure, as though he had not noticed her expression.
“Big brother, where are you heading this time? Why don’t I come with you?” Li Yuxi asked suddenly.
Li Mohan paused and frowned slightly. “Why would you follow me?”
“My stronghold was burned down. I have nowhere else to go. If I don’t follow you, whom else can I follow?” Li Yuxi replied with perfect frankness.
Li Mohan glanced at him and said indifferently, “I’m afraid that won’t do. I’m heading beyond the frontier this time. Father certainly won’t be pleased to see you.”
“Father is beyond the frontier?” A flicker passed through Li Yuxi’s eyes. He suddenly looked at Chu Bing, comprehension dawning on his face. “Then I suppose our third brother is there as well.”
At last, he understood why Chu Bing wanted to follow Li Mohan.
So she was actually going after Li Haoran!
A chill flashed across Li Yuxi’s eyes. He suddenly let out a mocking laugh and looked at Li Mohan. “You really do devote yourself to Father, big brother. Too bad he has no place for you in his eyes.”
Li Mohan’s expression changed. The anger he had kept suppressed finally erupted.
The chopsticks in his hand shot toward Li Yuxi’s vital point like a pair of sharp swords.
Li Yuxi turned his head and evaded the attack. The smile on his face gradually faded. “Has big brother lost his temper out of embarrassment?”
Chu Bing was startled by Li Mohan’s sudden attack. It was not Li Yuxi’s safety that worried her, but the thought that Li Mohan might suffer retaliation from him.
She quickly reached out and caught Li Yuxi by the arm, forcing a placating smile onto her face. “Li Yuxi! Say no more!”
Li Yuxi turned to look at her and immediately understood what she meant. He could not help giving a cold laugh. “You’re worried about him?”
Chu Bing shook her head slightly, her eyes full of concern, though she did not dare look at Li Mohan.
Li Mohan, however, heard every word. His expression darkened terribly. He slammed his palm against the table, and every pair of chopsticks upon it rose into the air before shooting viciously toward Li Yuxi.
Li Yuxi’s expression changed. He promptly pushed Chu Bing aside and engaged Li Mohan in combat.
The commotion was enormous. The diners at the surrounding tables were all frightened out of their wits and fled into the distance, afraid of being caught in the crossfire. Old Zhao drew his long sword and stood ready to support Li Mohan.
Chu Bing was frantic. She knew very well that after eating that fruit, Li Yuxi’s martial prowess had risen to a level at which very few people could stand against him.
In the middle of the hall, Li Mohan was gradually losing the upper hand. His face was icy, while Li Yuxi had not even used his full strength and appeared completely at ease.
Seeing that Li Mohan was about to be defeated, Chu Bing gritted her teeth and rushed forward without hesitation, placing herself between them.

“Enough!”
The two brothers were startled at the same time and withdrew the inner force in their hands.
“Are you insane? What if you had been hurt?” Li Yuxi’s expression changed. He hurried to Chu Bing, gripped her shoulders, and examined her anxiously.
Li Mohan had initially wanted to check on Chu Bing as well, but when he saw that Li Yuxi had already reached her, he silently halted the foot he had stepped forward.
Li Yuxi could not conceal the anxiety in his eyes, but Chu Bing’s attention was fixed entirely on Li Mohan. She impatiently pushed Li Yuxi away. “I’m fine. Just stop fighting with your brother!”
She rubbed her shoulder. In the heat of the moment, Li Yuxi had failed to control his strength and had hurt her.
Li Yuxi released her and looked at the impatience between her brows. Suddenly, he gave a mocking smile.
Noticing that something was wrong with his expression, Chu Bing felt a vague unease for reasons she could not explain. But she soon forgot the feeling and turned to Li Mohan, asking cautiously, “Master, are you all right?”
Li Mohan looked at her in silence for several seconds, then shook his head and suddenly walked upstairs.
“What’s wrong with him?” Chu Bing stared at his retreating back in confusion.
Old Zhao followed close behind, sword in hand, leaving only Chu Bing and Li Yuxi in the dining hall.
Li Yuxi casually flicked his sleeve. “Perhaps he lost and is too ashamed to show his face.”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” Chu Bing gritted her teeth. Li Mohan was not so narrow-minded!
Li Yuxi simply could not stand him.
Nearby, the waiter gazed mournfully at the shattered dishes and spilled food covering the floor. With a bitter expression, he clasped his hands and said to Chu Bing, “Esteemed guest, the losses to our humble establishment…”
Chu Bing glared fiercely at Li Yuxi and pointed at him without ceremony. “Ask him!”
After all, he was one of the culprits.
With that, she turned and hurried upstairs after Li Mohan.
Watching her rushing back, Li Yuxi’s expression sank completely.
The waiter kept his eyes fixed on him, afraid that he might run away.
Li Yuxi pulled a gold ingot from his robes, tossed it at the waiter, and strode upstairs after her.
