Chapter 36: Bemstar, the Ferocious Cosmic Predator

Old Man Huang was sitting on a golden toilet now, and even if he eventually got off it, he probably would not have the time to study Yapool’s notes for himself.
At present, the only person he seemed able to contact was Belisarius Cawl, the Archmagos of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
This special notebook would unquestionably pique Cawl’s interest.
But that was precisely the problem. If he let Cawl study it, he would effectively be handing the technology over to the Adeptus Mechanicus.
It was only a notebook belonging to Yapool, not a machine for synthesizing Ultra Beasts, but it was still an extremely important item.
If Cawl managed to use the notebook to create something related to Ultra Beasts, the profits would be enormous.
Without overwhelming strength, Rod could not protect this thing. He might even be persecuted outright by the Imperial Cult, the High Lords’ Council, or the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Rod had no faith in the human rulers of the Warhammer universe. When these people became ruthless, they even dared to harm Roboute Guilliman.
No! He had to wait at least until his identity as a primarch was recognized by the Imperium—and until Roboute Guilliman woke up.
The current High Lords of the Imperium were already scheming to seize power from even Roboute Guilliman, a primarch. They would have even fewer qualms about moving against Rod.
For the time being, he could not reveal this item.
Alternatively, there was another method: travel to Commorragh, the main city of the Dark Eldar, and find a way to kidnap a Haemonculus.
That would be extremely difficult as well. Getting to Commorragh itself was not particularly hard.
Many void pirates and even Rogue Traders knew how to reach it. It could be considered a vast meeting place for different races, a chaotic melting pot where all sorts of people mingled.
The danger, however, was immense. Even if Rod succeeded in abducting a Haemonculus, getting the creature to study the notebook willingly would be another troublesome matter entirely.
Rod stored Yapool’s research notebook in the system space. He would deal with it later.
For now, he had no solution at all. He would wait until his strength had increased further before considering how to unlock the value of the notebook.
Next, he would begin synthesizing his third monster. For that, he first needed to summon a monster companion and increase his combat power.
Inside the system space, Rod used nine fragments of the Space Monster Bemstar, along with ten fragments of miscellaneous monsters, and successfully fused them into the Space Monster Bemstar.
The fragments within the system gathered together, then erupted in a burst of golden light. The Space Monster Bemstar became Rod’s third summonable monster!

Bemstar could survive in outer space and even travel faster than light, so Rod immediately summoned the giant bird.
“Yee! Chitter! Coo-coo!”
Bemstar looked extremely excited when it first appeared, flying continuously around Rod’s spaceship.
The giant bird really did look adorably foolish.
The Space Monster Bemstar stood forty-six meters tall and weighed sixty-one thousand tons.
The bird was an incredibly heavyweight contender. To possess that tonnage at such a height was truly in a class of its own among monsters.
Bemstar’s close-combat ability was terrifying. It could absorb all kinds of energy beams, including various special cosmic rays and energy attacks.
The suction force of the disk on its abdomen could even distort space. The sharp horn on its head also allowed it to launch yellow lightning attacks from a distance. Its overall combat power was considerably greater than that of Red King.
Rod checked Bemstar’s potential for physical enhancement. Its body could be strengthened seven times in total, while its height could be increased six times.
The Space Monster Bemstar’s potential was far superior to Red King’s. Once these giant monsters were fully materialized, their physical presence would be truly terrifying.
Bemstar stood only one meter taller than Red King at forty-six meters, but it weighed three times as much, reaching an astonishing sixty-one thousand tons. A difference in mass like that was no joke.
The enhancement costs for the two monsters were the same: each increase in height added two meters and each increase in weight added three thousand tons.
Bemstar could also purchase special energy-beam abilities or strengthen some of its existing skills.
However, Bemstar was an all-round monster. It had speed, close-combat abilities, ranged attacks, and a special devouring technique.
It was not particularly lacking in beam attacks, so strengthening its existing abilities would be sufficient.
The yellow lightning attack fired from Bemstar’s horn could be enhanced twice in total. The first enhancement cost two thousand coins, while the second cost four thousand.
The first enhancement increased the lightning’s destructive power. The second allowed Bemstar to fire the lightning from its horn in beam form, much like the Specium Ray.
The suction organ on its abdomen could be enhanced four times. The first enhancement cost three thousand coins, the second five thousand, the third ten thousand, and the final enhancement twenty thousand.
Each enhancement would greatly increase its devouring ability while also expanding its maximum capacity for stored devouring energy.
Bemstar’s devouring ability had a limit. If it absorbed too much at once, it might be unable to withstand the energy and explode instead.
Rod decided to send the bird out to hunt first and wipe out the remnants of the swarm forces.

After the continuous attacks from King Joe and Red King, there should still have been several hundred thousand swarm creatures remaining below.
Even the smallest scrap of meat was still meat. His principle was simply not to waste anything.
Unlike Red King, the swarm could not outrun Bemstar. The creature’s atmospheric movement speed reached as high as Mach five.
Bemstar let out a cheerful howl, then flew toward the planet’s surface to eat.
That was right. In Bemstar’s eyes, these little insects were food—delicious food.
Rod stored the Pedan spaceship in the system space, then piloted King Joe back to the ground.
On the planet’s surface, Bemstar’s assault on the Tyranid army was even more terrifying. As soon as it reached the ground, it spread its enormous wings and began flying at low altitude.
The absorbing organ in Bemstar’s abdomen opened, generating an appalling suction force. Everywhere it passed, countless insects were sucked into its body.
Bemstar’s body was like a bottomless pit, frantically devouring the Tyranid units on the ground.
Just how powerful was Bemstar’s suction organ?
Sometimes, it could even swallow monsters of comparable size. It could even consume certain metallic constructs.
As for these oversized insects, Bemstar found them effortless to eat.
Crunchy and delicious—just like chicken.
Rod watched as the number of system coins began to rise slowly, and nodded in satisfaction.
The bird really was dependable.
When it came to slaughtering low-level creatures, its speed was astonishing. According to its original setting, Bemstar was even capable of destroying a planet-spanning civilization.
It was a ferocious predator of the cosmos, a disaster beast capable of annihilating civilizations.
Bemstar continued devouring everything in sight, while the humans below also detected the colossal beast.
