Chapter 12: Unless You Take Action Yourself, There's No Negotiation (Please Continue Reading)
“Relax! Civilian, don’t be nervous! May I sit down?” The Secretary Sister spoke with a gentle smile.
Before Rod could reply, Atoria naturally settled closely beside him and activated a sound-blocking device.
This muffled any unnecessary noises that might arise while extracting the genetic seed.
“Sir, I’ve come to ask a small favor,” Atoria began.
“Ahem! Sister, please speak plainly. If I can help, I will,” Rod replied.
What kind of request could there be for him in the midst of this battlefield? Surely it wasn’t because they were lonely or bored?
“First, thank you for your willingness to assist. This is a contribution to the Empire—a demonstration of loyalty to our great Empire. Simply put, I need some of your genetic seed and require your cooperation,” Atoria explained the entire situation to Rod.
Rod’s mouth fell wide open—he could have fit an egg inside it. Never in his dreams did he expect that this nun’s reason for approaching him was this!
He hadn’t realized that as a human who had crossed over from the 3K era on Earth, his genes were so pure.
Not that he’d never eaten food additives, but overall he was healthy.
Compared to humans in the Warhammer universe, he was much luckier—at least he didn’t have to consume corpse starch or food contaminated by radiation, mutation, or even chaotic evil energies.
And if he recalled correctly, the Emperor sitting on the golden throne was said to have been born so long ago that his birthdate could be traced back to before the Common Era.
By that standard, Rod, a human born in the 3K era, had an advantage in genetic purity.
So, should he agree? Yes, he should definitely agree.
Besides, both the medical nun and the Secretary Sister were quite attractive.
Seeing Rod hesitate, the Secretary Sister pressed on.
“At least your descendants will survive, and as members of the Empire’s nobility, we will personally raise your children. Besides, you just agreed to help.”
Girls marry into noble families, while boys become consorts.
“This isn’t a good place! I mean, the environment isn’t convenient—there isn’t even a proper bed,” Rod said.
They should find a room for privacy. If any noise leaked out, that wouldn’t be good.
“Don’t misunderstand! This syringe is just to collect your genetic seed. Once you provide it, we’ll immediately inject it back into you. There will be no other kind of interaction,” Atoria smiled, handing Rod a large syringe and signaling that he could begin.
Though they would carry his genetic seed off this planet, nothing intimate would occur.
Boy, don’t get any ideas! Did you think I’d personally handle this?
You handle it yourself—I don’t even care to know your name.
Rod was speechless.
So this means they want to use him as a tool? No wonder the Warhammer universe is so dark and twisted!
“Sorry, Sister Secretary, I’m not in the mood right now,” Rod said, frowning.
If you’d just asked for my cooperation, maybe I’d have agreed, but you want me to play some solo game? Damn it! I’ll die before I’m humiliated.
The Secretary Sister was clearly surprised by Rod’s refusal. To her, this was a rapid path to advancement—at least his genetic line would carry on.
And not just as a commoner, but as a member of a noble family.
“Civilian, sacrifice is the foundation of the Empire. I’m not asking for your opinion—I’m ordering you to extract your genetic seed immediately,” she said sternly.
“Prove it. Come and do it yourself; otherwise, I can’t do this alone,” Rod sneered.
With the monster reinforcing me as backup, if you try to force me, I’ll teach you a lesson. Though the Red King hasn’t reached his limit, at worst I lose some stats.
“You!” The Secretary Sister’s face turned ashen.
Rod snorted coldly and turned his head away, focusing instead on his virtual screen—visible only to him.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, the Red King had once again been severely wounded by the Tyranid swarm, teetering on the brink of death.
The last time the Tyranids brought the Red King to near death took almost a full day—about ten hours.
This time, however, only a few hours after nightfall, the Tyranids had already inflicted grievous injuries.
They had altered tactics, sending massive waves of cannon fodder to engage the Red King in close combat, swarms of gargoyles filled the skies, and several colossal aerial Titans relentlessly attacked the Red King.
At the same time, ranged Tyranid forces concentrated fire on him.
In less than two hours after nightfall, the fully healed and enhanced Red King was reduced to severe injury.
Rod had no choice but to initiate a second enhancement.
The Tyranid assault was fierce, yet the Red King’s performance was impressive.
Rod’s accumulated system gold coins had now reached an astonishing 5,000.
He spent 1,000 gold coins this time to increase the Red King’s height by two meters, making the giant’s stature 47 meters tall.
A golden radiance bathed the Red King once more.
The once brutalized beast revived fully, and everyone noticed the increase in his height.
From a nearby cave closest to the battlefield, the Polar Warrior battalion commander used his electronic binoculars to precisely measure the opponent’s height, noting it had grown from 45 to 47 meters.
“This beast is definitely evolving. Its height increase is obvious—there’s no mistake in the data,” the Polar Warrior commander said gravely.
They had assumed no matter how powerful the monster was, the Tyranids would eventually defeat it.
But if it could continuously enhance itself, then the possibility existed that it might end up wiping out the Tyranid forces instead.
After all, this Tyranid swarm was merely a remnant force of the Kraken fleet.
There were only a few Tyranid mother ships in space.
“Commander, shall we continue the mission?” an interstellar warrior asked.
“Wait a bit longer. We need to gather more intelligence first.”
