Chapter Sixty-Three: I Was Just Playing With You
Damn, ten times the price! Qi was now certain of how utterly black-hearted and insane these people were.
“Bastard, don’t ignore me!” The two young men posturing in the sky noticed the girl below paying them no mind. Performing alone like clowns, they grew enraged and launched an attack.
The seductive woman did not intervene. She sensed the youth before her was no ordinary person, so letting these two idiots test his strength first seemed wise. As long as he wasn’t at the Core Formation stage or above, she felt confident in her ability to fight or, at worst, escape and call for reinforcements.
“How much do I need to get a combat power tester?” Qi spat two streams of blue fire, dissolving their attacks and aiming straight for their faces.
“Fifty will do. Misaka, who has a conscience, would never be as black-hearted as God-brother. Duh, Misaka declares herself an honest and reliable person.”
The two young men’s expressions changed as they produced their defensive artifacts—a face-patterned umbrella and a bone shield, both exuding sinister energy. The fire struck their defenses and, instead of stopping, swirled around, attacking from all sides.
This move had once been easily defended by Emperor Su. The youth with the umbrella was completely unscathed within its protective aura. But the one with the bone shield was less fortunate. He raised a spiritual shield and blocked the first wave of flames, charging out of the blue fire with his shield. However, the scorching heat left his hair and clothes in disarray.
“Could you have the honest and reliable Lady Misaka send me one… three of them? Deduct the energy value directly.” With the madman absent and combat testers on sale at a tenth the price, Qi felt it only right to buy spares and appreciate Misaka’s generosity.
“This little fellow isn’t simple. Be careful, you two. I’m all alone in this dark place and I’m really scared,” the seductive woman purred in false alarm.
“Don’t worry, fairy. Dealing with a small fry like this is easy for me. Fellow Zhao, best wait on the side lest your hair gets burned again,” laughed the umbrella-wielding youth, eager to show off before the fairy and suppress his rival.
“Don’t underestimate me! Zhao was merely caught off guard by his sneak attack. This time, I’ll take him down first!” Zhao, furious, stared at Qi as if he were his mortal enemy.
“Three combat power testers, Misaka Express, delivered in a second. Duh, Misaka now has to visit her sister Shiji, locked in her room, so I’ll be leaving,” came Misaka’s voice, followed by the beeping of a phone shutting off.
Qi glanced at the testers in his hand—no different from before—shrugged, donned one, stowed the other two, and put away the Codex of Qi, preparing for battle.

“Huh, what just happened… Seems like nothing happened. Boy, prepare to die!” Zhao’s eyes flashed with confusion for a moment before he launched a fierce attack at Qi, who was now floating above them, ignoring any suspicion of memory lapses.
The umbrella-wielding youth attacked from another direction, their moves beginning to coordinate.
Qi was unconcerned. With a step, his body shot upward, escaping their range. As he rose, he took in their combat power.
Umbrella youth: 450. Bone shield youth: 460. Seductive woman: 350.
Qi was stunned—these numbers didn’t add up. Dodging another attack, he realized their combat power fluctuated wildly during battle, hovering around 450. The woman, smiling coyly, remained steady at 350.
“Wait a minute!” Qi suddenly shouted.
Startled, the two paused mid-attack, faces dark. “What, ready to surrender? Too late, you’ve already angered us.”
Qi’s expression said it all. Now their combat power was only 220—their true level. Indeed, cultivators were exceptional: even the most ordinary could double their strength in combat.
So Emperor Su and the seductive woman could easily hit over 600, maybe 700 if they were elite.
“What are you playing at? Looking for death?” Once again ignored, the two grew even angrier.
Qi’s base power was just over 90; a sevenfold burst would reach 600-plus. He wondered what his bloodline power might add.
That could wait. First, he needed to resolve this trouble.
Qi shook off his thoughts, glancing at the angry and gloomy youths. “Yes, I am messing with you,” he said calmly, nodding.

“Pfft, ahahaha…” The seductive woman couldn’t help but burst out laughing, her alluring voice only enraging the two young men further. They spat out their treasured life-bound artifacts, ready to go all out.
“I’ve heard lightning is the nemesis of evil cultivators. I wonder if that’s true,” Qi said, as a pair of wings sprouted from his back, crackling with blue-violet arcs.
“Thunder spiritual root cultivator!” the two exclaimed.
In the cultivation world, thunder was indeed a bane to demonic cultivators, even more so than water or fire. Yet thunder cultivators were rare, and those who mastered their arts even rarer. These two had never seen anyone wield lightning so directly.
Instinctively, their attacks faltered. The seductive woman frowned—she too felt the threat. Last time, a thunder spiritual root cultivator of her level had managed to suppress her. She wondered how well this youth could wield lightning.
With a sweep of his wings, dozens of lightning bolts shot toward the youths. They’d anticipated this, raising their defensive artifacts to block the swift but not overly powerful attacks.
“I guess I still prefer close combat,” Qi said.
Just as the two relaxed, Qi swept his wings again—not to launch lightning, but to close in on Zhao, the bone shield wielder. In Zhao’s shocked face, Qi punched with a fist charged with lightning. Zhao raised his shield, body thrown backward.
A howling sound erupted from both sides. Alarmed, Zhao used a spell, and the bone shield expanded tenfold, fending off the wings’ thunderous assault.
On the other side, the umbrella youth’s attack landed—his life-bound artifact, the Soul-Capturing Mirror, sent a dark glow sweeping toward Qi’s back.
