Chapter Two: The Breeder of Extraordinary Pokémon

"System, system, are you there?"

"So, can I ask why you're in my head?"
"Waaah~" The system suddenly burst into tears.

"Congratulations, you've received a Rawst Berry." (Activates when burned, cures burn. Select one burned Pokémon in your party to use and cure its burn.)
"Congratulations, you've received an Aspear Berry." (Activates when frozen, cures freeze. Select one frozen Pokémon in your party to use and cure its freeze.)
"What the— System, what are these things?"
"Please rest assured, Host. Everything from this system is top quality. Even an ordinary stone is a prized item."

"Congratulations, Host! You've received the Legendary Rayquaza."
"...?"
"Rayquaza?"
"No way. I struck it rich!"
Cheng Cheng leapt up in excitement.
"Ding! Note: Rayquaza is a Dragon/Flying-type Pokémon and not a Psychic-type. The system will now erase it."

"System, get out here and explain yourself! Forget about the earlier items, but why are you denying me Rayquaza when I actually drew it?"

"So you're saying I can only have Psychic-types? The three Legendary Birds, the three Legendary Beasts, the Forces of Nature, Groudon, Kyogre, Ho-Oh... I can't have any of them?"
"That's right. Host, you may only raise Pokémon with the Psychic type."
"I...!"
"Fine, fine. What's the last item?" Cheng Cheng sounded a little dejected.
"Congratulations, Host! You've received a Pokémon Egg."
"Psychic type?"
"Correct."
"Thank goodness." Cheng Cheng finally breathed a sigh of relief. If he had drawn a Pokémon from another type, he didn’t know what he might have done.
"Cheng Cheng, come out for dinner," called Aunt Meixuzi from outside the door.
"Coming!" Cheng Cheng put away Chimecho, opened his door, and sat down at the table.
Several plates of typical Japanese dishes were set out—this was Cheng Cheng’s first time having authentic Japanese cuisine.
