Xue Ren and the other two exchanged glances, and each could see the others’ uncertainty.

Just moments ago, they had all clearly sensed that faint trace of the First-Origin Realm aura from Chen Yu; he had been right on the threshold. Why, then, had he not broken through?

"Senior Brother Chen, may I ask you something?" Zheng Geng said a little awkwardly.

"Go ahead," Chen Yu replied calmly.

"Senior Brother, what kind of cultivation art do you plan to choose for the First-Origin Realm?" As soon as the words left his mouth, Zheng Geng realized he had been too abrupt and hurriedly added, "Of course, if it is a secret, you need not say."

Chen Yu smiled faintly. "It’s not really a secret. I plan to cultivate the Primordial Unity Scripture."

"The Primordial Unity Scripture?" Xue Ren and Zheng Huai both looked bewildered. Very few people cultivated that scripture, so they had never even heard of it.

"The Primordial Unity Scripture..." Zheng Geng, however, stared at Chen Yu in shock.

"Oh? Junior Brother Zheng Geng, you know it too?" Seeing his expression, Chen Yu grew curious.

Zheng Geng gave an embarrassed laugh. "I only learned of it from a senior brother. They say it is no weaker in the First-Origin Realm than the sect’s Great Pure and Luminous Scripture."

"What? Such a scripture exists?" Zheng Huai and Xue Ren were both astonished.

"Yes, it is stored in the Hall of Techniques," Zheng Geng said. "But it is only a fragmentary scripture. Very few can truly cultivate it to completion, and it only contains the methods for the first four realms, so almost no one bothers with it."

Chen Yu nodded with a smile. "That is indeed so."

"Senior Brother said he had some insight just now. Could it be that you have already comprehended it?" Zheng Geng asked. Though the question was somewhat presumptuous, he could not help asking.

Chen Yu did not hide anything and explained, "Fully comprehended it? Not quite. But regarding the saying that all things in the world are born from being, and being is born from nonbeing, I have my own thoughts on it..."

As Chen Yu spoke, the three of them only grew more lost, finding it difficult to make head or tail of it.

Seeing this, Chen Yu could only say, "If you junior brothers also wish to cultivate the Primordial Unity Scripture, you might first take a look at the Art of Turning and Creating among the Thirty-Six Heavenly Skills. You may gain something from it."

"The Art of Turning and Creating?" Xue Ren said in surprise. "Senior Brother Chen, you’ve studied that many of the Thirty-Six Heavenly Skills?"

"How could that be? I’ve only dipped into it a little," Chen Yu said with a smile.

The three did not doubt him. After all, Chen Yu was still only a cultivator who had formed his dantian’s vital energy. They had still wanted to ask a few more questions, but Chen Yu’s gaze suddenly tightened.

"Move, someone is coming," Chen Yu said gravely. "It should be because of my cultivation just now."

The three were startled, inwardly crying out that they had been careless.

Before they could even get far, however, they discovered they had already been surrounded.

"They come with ill intent. Be careful," Chen Yu warned in a low voice.

The four of them had yet to spot the enemy’s figures when, first of all, a fierce wind arrived, tangled with several streams of sword qi.

"Which petty scoundrels are you? Dare you show yourselves?" Chen Yu slashed out with wind-and-rain sword qi, instantly tearing open the enemy’s gale.

Xue Ren and the others grew solemn as well, not daring to relax in the slightest.

Yet the other side gave no response at all. Chen Yu’s face darkened. "Stay close to my steps. We leave..."

Without a trace of hesitation, the three immediately followed, each gripping a Wind-Borrowing Talisman in hand, ready to face the enemy at any moment.

Their intent was, of course, seen through at a glance.

"Think you can escape?" More sword qi came crashing down out of nowhere.

Chen Yu’s expression turned grim, and he gripped his longsword tightly. "Bold of you..."

He sprang up, and with the Dragon Subduing and Tiger Subduing technique, he unleashed righteous sword qi. With a single strike, he scattered the enemy’s sword qi.

"What?" The foe lurking in the shadows was also shocked.

But Chen Yu’s attack was not yet over. Before his feet even touched the ground, he immediately used the Shaking Mountain and Trembling Earth technique. At once, the earth within a radius of several tens of zhang trembled without end, the ground rolling like waves.

The enemy, unable to react in time, was instantly laid bare before the four of them.

"Kill..." Against his enemies, Chen Yu naturally showed no mercy. In an instant, he transformed into a streak of golden light and charged forward. Likewise, Xue Ren and the others, who had long cooperated well together, each killed toward the cluster of enemies.

"Golden Light Traversing the Earth Art, no—" Seeing Chen Yu already in front of him, that cultivator’s face went deathly pale in panic. He even forgot to resist, and Chen Yu had already taken his life.

"Junior Brother..." The others nearby could not help cursing in fury. "Kill him! Avenge Junior Brother!"

"Avenge him?" Chen Yu said contemptuously. "Then allow me to send you all together to reunite in the Yellow Springs."

Wind-and-rain sword qi surged outward, instantly enveloping the three of them. The three were horrified and hurriedly tried to block. But Chen Yu’s sword was far too fast. They could not withstand even two exchanges before they were already dead by Chen Yu’s hand.

Xue Ren and the others had also finished their battle, each having cut down one enemy.

"More from the Ghost Nether Sect," Zheng Geng said. "These people don’t seem to have been affected."

"It seems the matter here is not simple," Chen Yu said. "Judging from their coordination, it’s more like they were hunting cultivators."

Xue Ren and the others were even more shocked upon hearing this.

"Clean up and let’s leave quickly," Chen Yu said, a hint of a smile curling at the corner of his lips. "I’m becoming more and more curious now about what exactly is going on with that great tomb in Worry-Free Forest."

At the center of Worry-Free Forest, surrounded by mountains, there was something like a giant furnace half-buried beneath the earth. In the middle of that furnace lay a barren stretch of scorched ground. And upon that wasteland stood heaps of piled boulders, resembling both a grand palace and a massive tomb mound. Gray dragons sometimes seemed to rise above the tomb mound—that was merely an illusion caused by baleful aura transforming within the mist.

Many people were already stunned by the scene before them. Among them were wandering cultivators, disciples of the Spirit Ruins, members of the Ghost Nether Sect, and of the Heart Sword Sect...

Quite a few had already rushed inside earlier, but not long afterward, roars and howls would rise from within, as if they had suffered some sort of devastating blow. Most of those who came out had gone mad.

Of course, there were also those who emerged unscathed. From their mouths it was learned that within the tomb mound was a vast array, one that could disorder the mind and stir up a cultivator’s inner demons.

Still, there were those without confidence who feared nothing and charged in. But more people remained outside, watching and seeking the surest course. The most direct plan was simply to wait for others to break the tomb mound’s array; then it would be much safer.

"Is that the great tomb?" Xue Ren and the others finally arrived as well. All of them were shocked by the tomb mound, which looked like a fiendish ghost opening its blood-dripping maw, waiting for them to walk to their deaths.

"Senior Brother Chen, are we going in?" Zheng Geng asked.

Chen Yu frowned. The tomb mound made him feel an extreme danger. After some hesitation, he said, "Let’s wait a little longer... I’ve heard some people have already charged in. Let’s see whether they can come back out. Or whether the array can be broken first."

Though Xue Ren and the others were anxious too, they could see that so many people were still waiting, and so they had no choice but to do the same.
