After defeating the terrifying monster, Xu Xuan, Xiao Bai, and Xiao Qing stood breathless, the tension of the battle still lingering in their eyes. Yet, beneath that weariness, a profound sense of curiosity and a desire to uncover the mysteries of the enigmatic Green Rock Village began to take hold.

"How many secrets are hidden within this village?" Xiao Qing wondered aloud, wiping the grime from her blade.

Xiao Bai brushed the dust from her clothes and replied, "We must keep searching. There may yet be more clues concerning Xu Xuan's origins."

The trio resumed their meticulous search through the ruins of the village. They navigated around charred wooden beams and stepped over crumbling earthen walls, leaving no corner unexamined for potential revelations.

Tucked away in a secluded spot, shielded by several partially collapsed walls, lay a place easily overlooked. Through a narrow crevice in one of the walls, Xu Xuan caught a glimpse of a faint, flickering light.

"Something is strange here," Xu Xuan whispered. He pried the gap wider, and the glow intensified.

Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing hurried over at the sound of his voice. "What is glowing?" Xiao Qing asked curiously.

Together, they pushed aside a section of the wall, revealing a hidden hollow beneath. Resting within was a bead emitting a ghostly blue light, with thin wisps of black smoke swirling across its surface—it appeared both mysterious and ominous.

"What kind of bead is this? It looks wicked," Xiao Qing remarked with a frown.

Xiao Bai knelt to inspect the object closely, her expression turning grave. "This appears to be the Orb of Inner Demons, which I have heard elders speak of in the past. Legend says it can ensnare the mind, amplifying one's deepest fears and desires. Should it fall into the wrong hands, the consequences would be unimaginable."

Xu Xuan leaned in as well. "What should we do? We cannot simply leave it here."

Xiao Bai rose and pondered for a moment. "Let us take it with us and find a secure place to seal it. We must not allow it to bring ruin upon the world."

Xiao Qing expressed her concern, "But this orb is so malevolent—will it be dangerous for us to carry it?"

Xiao Bai looked at her steadily. "We shall be careful. Furthermore, its presence here might be connected to Xu Xuan's own past."

Xu Xuan nodded. "Xiao Bai is right. We will take it for now and see if we can find more clues."

With a swift incantation, Xiao Bai cast a seal to suppress the orb's power before carefully placing it into a small, enchanted box.

Just as they secured the orb and prepared to depart, a melodic flute song drifted through the air. The sound was ethereal yet unsettling, as if it originated from another realm.

Xiao Qing covered her ears. "This sound is unbearable; it feels as if it is burrowing into my mind."

Xu Xuan felt a sudden wave of dizziness. "Xiao Bai, what is happening?"

Xiao Bai’s face had gone deathly pale. "This music may be coming from an evil entity drawn here by the Orb of Inner Demons. We must leave at once."

The three of them hurried back the way they had come, but the flute melody followed them like a shadow, as if something were watching from the darkness, poised to strike.

Xu Xuan clenched his fists, silently vowing to unravel every mystery—from the truth of his own lineage to the origins of the sinister orb and the haunting flute. With Xiao Bai and Xiao Qing close by his side, the three marched resolutely into the unknown, navigating the perils of the mysterious Green Rock Village.
