Shen Shiwei asked, "Could it not be that the mayor was just saying those things to deceive people?"

"He was already planning to kill everyone; why would he bother with such lies?"

Shen Shiwei huffed, "You’re just trying to be difficult with me on purpose. Whatever."

Lu Sui: "..."

Angry again.

After driving for about an hour, the car pulled up next to a gas station.

"We're out of gas."

There were no other buildings near the gas station, save for a small convenience store and a public restroom.

Lu Sui unbuckled his seatbelt. "I’ll go down and check the situation first."

The gas station was deserted. Walking a few steps further, Lu Sui noticed that the glass door of the convenience store was splattered with blood.

Griping his gun, Lu Sui moved forward quietly.

The store door was open. On the floor lay a corpse that had been picked clean, and two zombies were shuffling around near the shelves.

Standing at the entrance, Lu Sui raised his gun and took care of one with a single shot.

He leaned against the glass wall, carefully scanning the area. Once he confirmed there was no more danger, he walked back to the car and said, "It’s safe to get out."

Lu Sui told Song Yingjun, "Take them and move some supplies; I’m going to refuel."

"Got it."

Shen Heng and Wei Qing followed Song Yingjun into the store, but Shen Shiwei stepped out of the car and stood beside Lu Sui, watching him refuel in silence.

"Why aren't you going to get food?"

Suddenly, Shen Shiwei opened her mouth and bit down on Lu Sui’s arm.

Lu Sui stopped what he was doing, but he didn't fight back; he just stood there and watched her quietly.

Just as her teeth were about to sink into his exposed wrist, she stopped. She tilted her head to look at him and asked curiously, "Why didn't you dodge?"

Lu Sui countered, "Why should I?"

Shen Shiwei lifted her chin, acting perfectly reasonable. "Didn't they say we all have the zombie virus in our bodies? Aren't you afraid I might suddenly turn into a zombie?"

Lu Sui was silent for a moment. "You won't."

"Oh? Why are you so sure?"

Lu Sui’s hand paused. "Intuition," he said, then added, "My intuition has always been very accurate."

"Oh," Shen Shiwei replied flatly. She felt his calm reaction wasn't fun at all, so she sat back in the car, waiting in boredom.

Before long, Wei Qing trotted over holding a popsicle, his eyes bright. "Weiwei, do you want this?"

Shen Shiwei gave it a light glance and refused immediately. "I don't want that."

The light in Wei Qing’s eyes dimmed instantly. He said dejectedly, "Alright, I understand."

Shen Heng carried three cases of bottled water to the trunk all by himself, showing no signs of fatigue.

Watching him, Shen Shiwei noticed something was off. "Brother, that’s not your normal strength, is it?"

"Huh?" Shen Heng stopped, turned to look at her, and flexed his arm to show off his muscles. "See? Look how much power I have!"

Shen Shiwei narrowed her eyes, struck by a thought. "Here, try lifting this car."

Shen Heng was confused. "Why?"

"Oh, just try it."

"Hmm... alright." As he positioned his hands under the rear of the car, he muttered, "What's the point of testing this? How could a normal person lift—"

The rest of his sentence died in his throat. With only six parts of his effort, he had lifted a corner of the car.

"What is going on? Are two cans of protein powder really that effective?!"

Shen Shiwei was speechless. "Brother, it's an ability. You have an ability too."

"An ability?" Shen Heng looked at his hands, then turned to look at Wei Qing. "No way, why is mine so mundane? Wei Qing’s shield thing is so sci-fi!"

Shen Shiwei wondered the same. There were thousands of abilities, yet she had been stuck with the ability to speak to animals—she wasn't even sure if that could save her life.

After a moment of thought, she said, "I have an ability too."

Shen Heng was instantly intrigued. He leaned in and asked, "What is it?"

"Space."

"Huh?"

Seeing his confusion, she stepped out of the car, walked to the trunk, and reached out toward a case of water. Mentally reciting a command, the items vanished before their eyes.

Shen Heng: "???"

"Impressive, right!"

As long as she claimed the space was her ability, no one would suspect the bracelet.

Shen Heng looked depressed. "This makes my ability seem really common."

Shen Shiwei patted his shoulder with a laugh. "It’s fine! Others can carry one case of water, but you can carry three! 'The porter of nature,' right?" She started laughing at her own joke.

Shen Heng: "..."

Wait, Shen Heng suddenly thought of someone.

"Come on, there’s still plenty of food in the store. Put it all in your space."

Shen Shiwei frowned. "It’s too dirty in there."

"Just stand at the door."

Shen Heng led her to the entrance. Seeing her, Wei Qing stopped what he was doing and walked over. "Weiwei, what do you want to eat? I'll get it for you."

Shen Shiwei’s gaze landed on the corpse on the floor, now reduced to half a body. She felt nauseous, looked away, and said softly, "I don't want to eat."

Wei Qing’s expression dimmed; he lowered his eyes and said nothing.

Shen Heng stepped over the corpse and walked to Song Yingjun, who was choosing toiletries. "Weiwei, can you show him what your ability is?"

Song Yingjun looked up, bewildered. "What ability?"

Shen Heng said loudly, "Weiwei, give him a demonstration."

"..." Shen Shiwei was speechless. Her brother really had an irrepressible show-off streak no matter where he went.

Shen Shiwei raised her hand, and the store shelves were instantly emptied, including the towel Song Yingjun was holding.

"Whoa? What just happened?"

Wei Qing looked at Shen Shiwei with even more tenderness in his eyes. "Weiwei, you’re amazing."

Shen Shiwei raised an eyebrow, crossed her arms, and curled one corner of her mouth in a smug grin.

"Damn, that’s so magical!" Song Yingjun hurried over and looked her up and down. "So, where do you put all the stuff?"

"It’s just... you know, space. Why overthink it?" As she spoke, she reached out, and the towel Song Yingjun had been holding appeared in her hand. "Here, take it."

Song Yingjun was stunned. "That’s so cool." After a pause, he seemed to realize something. He looked at Wei Qing, then at Shen Heng, and finally at Shen Shiwei with a thoughtful gaze. "Don't tell me you all have abilities now?"

The three of them nodded in unison.

"Then... why don't I have one?"

Lu Sui walked over and said calmly, "We can head out now."

Song Yingjun looked at Lu Sui sharply, his eyes bright with expectation. "Captain, do you have an ability?"
