Volume One, Chapter 20: I’ll Tell You When I Wake Up
“You…” Yan Weiyu was choked with anger, yet her body trembled uncontrollably.
Though she knew this man was like a demon, she still found herself reacting involuntarily to his every move—how pathetic!
If she could move now, she wished she could just bang her head against the bed until she lost consciousness.
She struggled to stay clear-headed and forcefully shifted the topic, trembling as she asked, “What poison did you give me?”
Though she wouldn’t claim to be a divine healer, her medical skills were decent. Yet now, she couldn’t detect what was wrong with her body; not even the poison from the Seven-Day Powder seemed to affect her.
But her body was utterly immobile.
Yuan Kaiji saw her fierce questioning and smiled wryly, turning to lie down beside her, closing his eyes as he murmured, “I’m very tired now. Stay with me and sleep first. When I wake, I’ll tell you everything.”
“You pervert!” Yan Weiyu gritted her teeth, desperate to kick him off.
Did this man have some serious illness? Kidnapping a man to sleep with him!
She was furious!
But she couldn’t do anything now, so all she could do was sulk silently.
Yuan Kaiji reached out to pull her into his embrace, pressing her head against his chest and softly saying, “Be good, sleep now.”
Yan Weiyu opened her mouth and bit into his chest.
“Ow—” Yuan Kaiji gasped in pain, his voice hoarse as he coaxed, “Be good, don’t make trouble. I’m really tired. Sleep first!”
“Ah—ah—ah—” Yan Weiyu’s inner dragon roared! This damn pervert! What on earth was he doing? What nonsense was he spouting?
Soon, even breaths came steadily and softly from above.
Yan Weiyu, trapped in Yuan Kaiji’s arms and unable to move, felt utterly helpless and disheartened as the strong masculine scent enveloped her, so close yet powerless. She just wished she could die.
Yuan Kaiji slept a long sleep—from afternoon until the next morning.
Yan Weiyu’s mind went through seven or eight dramas before she finally succumbed to sleep.
When Yuan Kaiji opened his eyes, soft morning light filtered in through the window. He gazed at the sleeping face in his arms, momentarily lost in thought.
Yan Weiyu opened her eyes to find that damned man staring at her like a lovesick fool!
She was deeply displeased and snapped, “You pervert! You’re confused about your own orientation; can you stop sullying my reputation for purity?”
Yuan Kaiji gritted his teeth. This woman, she was much more bearable when asleep. Awake, she made him want to strangle her!
Yan Weiyu, unaware of this, continued her fearless tirade, “Look at your face—handsome enough, yet you act so dishonorably!
“If you need something, go to Nan Feng Pavilion; why just kidnap people off the street…”
Was she seriously calling him a pervert?!
Yuan Kaiji’s eyes blazed with fire as he bent down and sealed her babbling mouth with a kiss.
The warm, soft sensation overwhelmed Yan Weiyu, nearly driving her mad. This man was truly hopeless!
What kind of karma was this—to have carefully chosen only to end up with a hopeless pervert!
If Xiao Ping’an and Xiao Kaixin knew their father was a hopeless pervert, what kind of misery would that bring?
“Ugh, ugh ugh—” Yan Weiyu tried to resist but was helpless, her body unmoving, only able to protest with sounds.
Yuan Kaiji’s kiss was addictive, unleashing four years’ worth of grievances, anger, longing, and pain in this tempestuous embrace.
Outside the door, the assembled subordinates, having recovered, stared wide-eyed.
“Yuan Yi, the master hasn’t eaten two meals; you should check on him, he…”
Yuan Yi waved them off firmly. “I’m not going! Whoever wants to go, go yourself!”
Inside, Yan Weiyu was equally unyielding—once she caught a breath, she bit down fiercely.
“Ow—” Yuan Kaiji grasped her chin, forcing her to release her bite.
“Are you a wildcat?” he sneered, touching his injured lip.
“Not as wild as you, you pervert! You hopeless pervert!” Yan Weiyu gasped for air, shouting hoarsely.
The subordinates outside gaped in shock.
What earth-shattering secret had they just heard?
Yuan Yi and Yuan Liu exchanged a glance, both struggling to hide their astonishment: Could the master have really kidnapped the wrong person?
Yuan Er and Yuan San were utterly dismayed: Did the master really force himself on a man? Ah—did they have any hope of a little master in the future?
Would the Yuan family be truly cut off?
As they exchanged worried looks, the door suddenly flung open! Yuan Kaiji’s face darkened as he glared at the crowded doorway and coldly asked, “Why are you all blocking the way?”
Yuan Yi quickly motioned, and the others saluted Yuan Kaiji silently before dispersing.
Only Yuan Yi and the slightly slower Yuan Er and Yuan San remained, nervously standing their ground.
“Master, you haven’t eaten. We were worried about your health.”
Yuan Kaiji touched his wounded lip and said coldly, “Prepare breakfast!”
“Yes!” Yuan Yi answered, dragging the hesitant Yuan Er and Yuan San away swiftly.
“Master’s lip is injured; should we prepare soft food?” Yuan Er asked shrewdly.
Yuan Yi kicked Yuan Er’s leg. “Fool, the master always eats simple breakfasts. He’s never ordered breakfast before. If you try to simplify it, expect to be punished in the water prison.”
“Oh, right! The master missed two meals. He definitely wants something hearty now.” Yuan Er suddenly understood.
Yuan Yi didn’t want to argue with the fool anymore.
Breakfast was soon delivered in a stream to Yuan Kaiji’s chamber. Yuan Kaiji held a basin of water, gently wiping Yan Weiyu’s face.
No matter how much Yan Weiyu protested and cursed, she had given up resisting and let him tend to her.
“All done. Use breakfast to rinse your mouth,” Yuan Kaiji said, satisfied with his care, tossing the cloth back into the basin.
Unaware that her disguise had been washed away, Yan Weiyu glared at him fiercely. “Detox me now. I might just tolerate it. Otherwise, wait for the retribution from Cangxian Mountain!”
Yuan Kaiji looked at her threatening, snarling little face and smiled indulgently, his voice soft: “Fine, I’ll be waiting.”
Yan Weiyu looked away as if she’d seen a ghost, refusing to respond.
She realized this man’s skin was thicker than a city wall—the more she cursed, the more invigorated he became!
Forget it. Just give up.
She hoped that when he discovered she wasn’t a man, he wouldn’t be disillusioned!
That he wouldn’t kill her in anger to silence her!
Yuan Kaiji personally carried Yan Weiyu to the dining table, scooped a spoonful of meat porridge, blew on it to cool it, and brought it to her lips. “You missed two meals. Eat some porridge first, warm your stomach.”
Yan Weiyu glared at him!
Why had she missed two meals? Because this bastard had kidnapped her and then didn’t feed her!
Yuan Kaiji patiently explained, “It’s not that I didn’t feed you. You were poisoned by the Seven-Day Powder and needed to empty your stomach to fully detox.”
Yan Weiyu sneered. She knew medicine, of course she knew!
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to let him sleep so peacefully last night!
But the Seven-Day Powder was easy to cure. What worried her was the condition her body was in now!
“You said yesterday you’d tell me what poison you gave me after you woke up.”
